Page, AZ : Horseshoe Bend & Antelope canyon

We visited Page, AZ as part of our southwest road trip. We started from Grand Canyon’s east entrance in the afternoon and reached Horseshoe Bend in two hours. To read the entry from the previous day, click here.

Horseshoe Bend, The hike to the overlook is 1.5 miles round trip. It was free to visit, but you must pay $10 for parking. The walk started slightly hilly before going downhill later on.

A gorgeous, spectacular, marvelous natural wonder. To ensure safety, rails were put in place. It is trendy for sunset pictures.

Glen Canyon Dam Overlook It was free to visit. From the parking lot, there was short hike to go down to the viewing area. Watch your steps because the rocks were a little slippery, but they looked so gorgeous with all the different layers.

The dam views were great. There were guide rails for safety.

After visiting the area’s attractions, we spent the night in Page, Arizona. There were several hotels and restaurants to choose from. I booked the tour for Antelope canyon for the next day.

These canyons can only be visited on a guided tour as it is located on Navajo land. Because it is one of the most well-known and widely-photographed locations, reservations are required in advance because space is limited. There are two canyons, upper and lower canyon, and you can visit either one or both. Choose the upper canyon if you have mobility concerns because the lower canyon contains a few stairs. We booked Ken’s tours for lower Antelope canyon tour at https://www.lowerantelope.com/

Antelope Canyon We visited the lower canyon, where you enter and descend using stairs.

Antelope Canyon

All pictures look different due to different angle and lighting.

Once we were done with our tour, we continued on our road trip. Our next stop was Monument Valley.

Staying a night in Page, AZ, allows us to visit horseshoe bend the previous evening and Antelope Canyon the following day.
